Jimmy Choo is a British fashion house that manufactures as well as markets fashion accessories for women. Its products include handbags, sunglasses, small leather goods, shoes and bridal footwear. Jimmy Choo Ltd. offers its fashion products through catalogs, online boutique and retailers such as Liberty of London, Neiman Marcus, Harrods and Bergdorf Goodman. The company operates boutiques in the United States, the Middle East, Japan, Asia, Africa, United Kingdom, Australia, South America and Europe.
Jimmy Choo, Ltd. was founded in 1996 by the, now very famous, shoe designer Jimmy Choo and Tamara Mellon, a Vogue accessories editor. Born in 1961, Jimmy Choo, after studying at the London College of Fashion, set up his own business by opening a small studio in the East End of London. The studio was named as “Jimmy Chow”, but the registrar of the studio incorrectly spelt his name mentioned on his birth certificate. Jimmy Choo was the latest in the shoemakers line from his family, and had made his first “Choo” at the age of 12. Today, Jimmy Choo, Ltd. is under the authority of Tamara Mellon and Sandra Choi.
